Home Assistant Integration

The AL60 is built on the ESPHome framework, making it a "first-class citizen" in the Home Assistant ecosystem.

Once your AL60 is connected to your WiFi network, Home Assistant should automatically discover it.

  1. Open your Home Assistant dashboard.
  2. Go to Settings > Devices & Services.
  3. You should see a notification for a new ESPHome device named AL60.
  4. Click Configure, and the integration will be added automatically.

The Home Assistant integration exposes several entities for control and monitoring:

  • Ring Light Mode: Change the clock effect and set global brightness.
  • Hour/Minute/Second Hand Colors: Individual RGB controls for each "hand".
  • Enable Seconds/Markers: Toggle these visual elements on or off.
  • Enable SNTP Sync: Remotely toggle internet time sync.
  • Temperature & Humidity: Real-time environmental data.
  • Presence (Radar): A binary sensor that indicates if motion is currently detected.
  • Ambient Light: The current light level in the room.
  • WiFi Signal: Monitor the clock's network connection strength.
  • Restart: Remotely reboot the clock.
  • Update Firmware: If a new version is available, you can trigger the update directly from Home Assistant.

Integrating the AL60 into your smart home allows for powerful automations. For example, you could dim the clock when your TV turns on, or change the hand colors to red if your security alarm is triggered.

[!TIP] The Presence sensor in the AL60 is a high-sensitivity radar. It can be used to trigger other room lights or routines in Home Assistant, even if the clock's own display is set to manual mode.
